China remained Australia's top trading partner in 2011/12 with two-way trade totalling $127.8 billion.
Japan and the United States were Australia's next two biggest trading partners, with $75.7 billion and $56.7 billion worth of trade respectively, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade revealed this morning.
China accounted for one-quarter of Australia's total exports to the world in 2011.
This was not surprising given exports to China have grown from $8.8 billion in 2001 to $77.1 billion in 2011, an average annual growth of around 25 per cent.
Resources and fuels continued to top the list of Australian exports to China.
