Transfield Services has confirmed it has secured $1.1 billion of work in the first quarter of the current financial year, including milestone contracts with BHP Billiton and Caltex Australia.

Transfield said its Australia and New Zealand business won $670 million of work with existing clients during the quarter, including Australian Rail Track Corporation, Brisbane City Council, Sydney Water and Chorus.

The company also secured work in the initial phase of the National Broadband Network rollout, to construct one of the first release sites.

"These contracts in both the Infrastructure and Property and Facilities Management businesses reflect the strong relationships Transfield Services has established with existing clients through the delivery of quality services," Transfield said in a statement.

Transfield won construction contracts with BHP Billiton and Caltex Australia, leveraging the company's position in the Australian hydrocarbons maintenance services sector.
