It's time to bag those event tickets.
Tickets for the much anticipated The Margaret River Gourmet Escape from 22-25 November are going on sale on 16 August and chances are spots at the festival's 'satellite events' - including the Heston Icon Dinner at Voyager Estate - are going to sell-out fast, so best be on the buzzer.
While Western Australia-based foodies have been talking about little else for quite some time now, the good news for interstate foodies is that there are some really great value package deals, meaning they can be part of the fun too. Escape to the West Gourmet Adventure' travel packages are available through the event's official website including return airfares to Perth, accommodation and Gourmet Village entry plus lots more, from $716 per person (in twin share).
The four-day festival already promises a line up like nothing seen before in WA's great wine region; with Heston Blumenthal, Rene Redzepi, Neil Perry (Rockpool Bar & Grill), Tetsuya Wakunda (Tetsuya) and Peter Gilmore (Quay) all topping the list, and even more internationally acclaimed chefs regularly joining the line up.
The heart of the event is the Gourmet Village which will be open over the weekend and set in the iconic Leeuwin Estate. The Gourmet Village will host over 100 WA premium exhibitors, local vineyards, gourmet producers and pop up restaurants.
All the afore-mentioned internationally acclaimed chefs, as well as a further 20 Australian food and wine masters will appear across the weekend in locally themed demonstrations, Q&A sessions, panel discussions and masterclasses, including Breville's Test Kitchen.
Never before seen Gourmet Beach BBQs are also top picks on the 'satellite event' list and will take place at Smiths Beach on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 November.Favourite Australian chefs including Matt Moran (ARIA, MasterChef Australia) and Matt Stone (Greenhouse Perth) are just two celebrities in an exciting line up to make guest appearances at the beach BBQ.
Leeuwin Estate Winery Restaurant will be hosting an intimate dinner affair with international guest AA Gill and George Colombaris (The Press Club, MasterChef Australia).
The festival will also host Master of Wine Lisa Perotti-Brown and Australian-based wine guru Nick Stock who will be hosting masterclasses at the Gourmet Traveller Wine Theature in the Gourmet Village.
This foodie affair is definitely one not to be missed.
